RNC triumph in National Blind Football League

The RNC blind football team has secured a resounding victory in the National Blind Football League. It was a competitive season going down to the final day of fixtures to decide the League winner. But the season finished with dominant wins for the College team.

The closing matches saw RNC face off against Merseyside Blind and VI Football Club. In a thrilling display, RNC emerged victorious with a score of 4-1. Leading the charge was striker Azeem Amir, netting an impressive two goals. Captain Owen Bainbridge further solidified the win by adding another two goals to his tally.

Maintaining the momentum, RNC went on to conquer West Bromwich Albion in a nail-biting 1-0 encounter. Once again, Captain Bainbridge rose to the occasion, scoring the winning goal and propelling his team to the top of the League table with a total of 25 points.

Head Coach, Adam Bendall, said:

‘We are really pleased to have won the National Blind Football League. It’s been a tough season and to win the League on the last game shows the team spirit and togetherness that we have at RNC.’

But the celebrations don’t stop there. This win also secures RNC a coveted spot in the FA Disability Cup, which will be televised on TNT over the weekend of 29 and 30 June. However, before the team sets their sights on St George’s Park, they have another challenge to conquer – the Brian Aaron’s Cup on Saturday 11 May. Will RNC be on for the treble?
