WBA declared NBFL Champions with two games to go
On the penultimate match day of the season, the National Blind Football League (NBFL) delivered a flurry of goals and dramatic results that solidified West Bromwich Albion's (WBA) dominance in the Premiership.
The day kicked off with a resounding victory for Merseyside Blind and VI FC, who dispatched RNC with a 5-0 scoreline. Goals from Williams (2), Turnham (2), and Mbuangi sealed a comfortable win. However, RNC's woes continued as they faced WBA.

West Brom delivered a ruthless display, delivering a 6-0 win over RNC. Iyobo was the star of the show, netting an incredible five goals, with Amjid adding the sixth.
Next up it was Merseyside v WBA. Despite Mbuangi scoring for Merseyside, Iyobo's sensational hat-trick secured a 3-1 victory for WBA, confirming their status as Premiership champions.
In the Championship, RNC Men v RNC Women played out a hard-fought 0-0 draw, followed by another goalless stalemate between WBA and RNC Men. The final Championship match saw WBA clinch a narrow 1-0 victory over RNC Women, with Bryant scoring the decisive goal.

With these results, WBA have secured the Premiership title with an unassailable 25 points after 10 games. RNC sit in second place with 10 points, followed closely by Merseyside with 9. This sets up a thrilling finale in April, where RNC and Merseyside will battle it out to determine who joins WBA in the prestigious Brian Aaron's Cup and the FA Disability Cup later in the year.
As a one off, these fixtures were streamed live thanks to a group of TV Production students from Ravensbourne University London. Their efforts, part of their final project, provided a fantastic opportunity for fans to witness the skill and passion of blind football. The final match day in April promises to be a thrilling conclusion to an already captivating season. All eyes will be on RNC and Merseyside as they fight for a place in the cup finals, while WBA prepare to celebrate their well-deserved championship victory.
