Anniversary larfs!
Stand-up comedian and ex RNC student, Chris McCausland, did a fantastic benefit gig for the Charity's 150th anniversary at The Courtyard Arts Centre in Hereford at the end of March, raising a whopping £6,500.
Chris kindly did a post-show meet and greet with current students, some of whom had helped by running a bucket collection... he wanted to know if Hereford's night venues still existed (yes, The Kerry is still there, Chris!) and to find out what subjects they were studying.
Chris' Hereford date was the start of a national tour, with over 110 dates between now and April 2023,' said 'Melanie Denning, RNC's Fundraising Manager.
'He spoke honestly and movingly but with great humour about what it's like to be visually impaired, to be a blind dad and husband. When I first approached him, Chris was up for helping his old college straightaway and did the gig completely free of charge for which we're very grateful.'
Catch Chris' tour Speaky Blinder if you can and thanks to him and his team for their great support!
The picture below shows the group of staff and students who met with Chris after the show.
This picture shows students from L-R: Will, Jack, Gabs and Lorna with their collection buckets in the foyer of the theatre.
