On this unique edition of the world’s most famous board game, the classic multi-coloured Monopoly property squares like Mayfair and Park Lane from the original Monopoly are represented by Hereford landmarks and organisations. The Community Chest and Chance cards and money are Hereford themed too.
RNC's Executive Principal, Lucy Proctor, along with students Harvey Ford-Simms and Laurel Spiers were invited to attend the launch at the Green Dragon Hotel. Both students are members of the College's Board Games Club and keen Monopoly players. They were excited to collect the new Monopoly set from Mr Monopoly himself, and already planned to mark up the board in Braille and take it along to Board Games Club so everyone can enjoy this new local edition of the game.
At the launch it was mentioned that RNC was the top nominated charity and the College was both delighted and hugely grateful for all of the support and would like to thank everyone for their nominations. It's a very special accolade, particularly as the College continues to celebrate its 150th anniversary this year.
Harvey and Laurel represented the College brilliantly. On being presented with the new board game, Harvey spoke confidently in front of the gathered great and good. Both students also spoke to the media and can briefly be heard during this feature on BBC Hereford & Worcester.
